Lottery Pool At Work?

If your work has a lottery pool, and it consists of coworkers you don’t hang out with outside of work, do you know what that means?  Your work sucks so bad that people want to grasp straws at getting the heck outta dodge by trying to win a lottery pot where the chances are better at getting hit by lightning.

We have had such pools in the past.  Our work hours were so bad, literally, we took turns sleeping in the hotel (albeit a very nice one) across the street from our work all hours of the night in shifts.  We would all pitch in when the pot got to be over 40M.  I have to tell you, it felt better just fooling ourselves that we were doing something about our situation.  We never won and the tickets are a decoration in my cube, a fire hazard really.  It still reminds me of the late nights and the spark of hope we had, when we all pitched in our five bucks to try to get the heck outta there.  It made us all feel a little bit better when we thought of how if we all won, we’d all walk out and there would be no one left to run the department, manager and director included. HA.  Thankfully it’s gotten alot better.
